ABOUT THIS ROLE

PACKAGE CAR MECHANIC

We’re looking for dependable, hardworking mechanics to join North Fleet Services as Package Car Mechanics. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, values safety and integrity, and has the skills to keep delivery vehicles operating at their best.

In this role, you’ll inspect, maintain, and repair package cars that are essential to day-to-day operations, ensuring they remain safe, compliant, and ready to hit the road.

WHO YOU'LL BE WORKING WITH

As a Package Car Mechanic, you’ll work independently at our shop and on-site at the package car center each night. This is a night-shift role, running from 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM, where you’ll ensure vehicles are inspected, repaired, and ready for the next day’s operations. You’ll still have the full support of North Fleet Services leadership and administrators, but this role requires self-motivation and reliability while working solo.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain package cars and related equipment

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to keep vehicles safe and road-ready

  • Troubleshoot electrical, brake, and mechanical systems

  • Complete required inspections and document all work performed

  • Maintain a safe, organized work environment and follow all compliance standards

  • Support companywide teammates with knowledge-sharing and assist when needed

  • Work the Night Shift: 4 PM – 12:30 AM

YOU MIGHT BE OUR PERSON IF YOU...

  • Have hands-on experience with vehicle maintenance and repair

  • Can diagnose and troubleshoot common automotive issues

  • Have knowledge of combustion engines and electrical diag

  • Are dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to quality workmanship

  • Value honesty, integrity, and safety in every job you do

  • Can work independently and communicate effectively

  • Have basic computer skills for logging repairs and sending emails

BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE

  • Diesel experience or ASE certifications

  • Welding or fabrication skills

  • Forklift certification

  • Previous work on commercial or delivery vehicles

DETAILS

This is a permanent, night-shift position (4:00 PM – 12:30 AM) working independently at our shop and at the package car center each evening. We are seeking a full-time mechanic who is dependable, skilled, and committed to keeping vehicles safe and road-ready.
